Product Description:
Check valve, also called one-way valve or non-return valve, the function is to prevent medium from returning. The disc is automatically open or closed based on flow force, to prevent medium from returning. Applicable for flow in single direction, only allow the medium flow in one direction to prevent the accidence. Generally, the flow makes the disc open under pressure function, from inlet side to outlet side. When the inlet port pressure is lower than outlet side, the disc will automatically close the pass under flow pressure and self-weight. The structure is simple and flow resistance is small.

For carbon steel check valve, the seat material is usually forged steel. The sealing surface of the seat is spray welded with hard alloy specified by the customer. Renewable threaded seat is used for NPS≤8 check valves, and welded-on seat is optional. Welded-on seat is used for NPS≥10 carbon steel gate valves. For stainless steel check valve, integral seat is usually applied, or to weld hard alloy directly integrally. Threaded-in or welded-on seat is also optional for stainless steel check valve if required.
Stainless steel + flexible graphite wounded gasket is used for Class150LB and Class 300LB check valve; stainless steel flexible graphite wounded gasket is used for Class 600# check valve, ring type joint gasket is used for Class 900 check valve; pressure seal design is used for Class1500#,Class 2500# check valves.
The body and bonnet of Class150 to Class 900 check valves are usually with studs and nuts. And the body and bonnet of Class 1500 to Class 2500 check valves are usually of pressure seal design.
The body is full ported and spherical in form. The design utilizes large radiuses which allow for the stresses, flow resistance and turbulence to be kept to a minimum. Bosses are provided for optional drains.
The hinge arm pivots on the hinge pin which is located near the disc's center of gravity. Body penetration for the hinge pin is sealed with a soft steel gasket and flanged plug. The hinge arm is designed to withstand the shock load of quick closing to insure a longer life and continued shut- off. The hinge arm also has an integral disc stop that provides a positive stop in the open position.
Each disc's seating surface is precision ground and mated to the seat ring for insurance of a positive shut off. The disc is secured to the hinge arm with the disc nut and pinned to prevent disengagement during service. We can provide either integral or overlaid seat facings at customer's request.
For normal service conditions, ASTM A194 Class 2H and ASTM A193 Grade B7 nuts and stud bolts are furnished. If specified for high temperature service conditions, ASTM A194 Class 4 and ASTM A193 Grade B16 nuts and stud bolts are furnished. Standard bolting furnished for our stainless steel valves consists of ASTM A194 Class 8 and ASTM A193 Grade B8 nuts and stud bolts. SEDELON can supply any bolting as requested by the customer.
Our standard production covers valves with: Flange ends with Raised Face (RF), Flat Face (FF) or Ring Type Joint (RTJ) that conform to B16.5. Butt-welding ends (BW) that conform to B16.25. All face-to-face/end-to-end dimensions conform to B16.10. Other special end connections are supplied according to customer's requirements.
